The Anti-Martyr is the sworn enemy of victim mentality. She stands against those who leave themselves open to being a victim and then cry foul when they feel betrayed. She is to remind us that we alone are responsible for setting our own boundaries, raising our own shields, to protect ourselves from toxic relationships. The reflection in the shield represents an abstract antagonist falling away.

Inspired by a fragment of the Sistine Chapel, this image in made personal by life experience and observations of humanity that most people can identify with. It stands as symbol and reminder that society is in no need of self-made, false martyrs.
